Search-box entries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Gallatin County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may handle the request under its own privacy notice and terms.
Messages and contact submissions
Email and contact-form messages are kept as needed to read the request and send a reply. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, a valid legal process, or a safety need.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Each page load may produce routine technical information used to operate and understand the service.

- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on each page
- The referring site, when one is provided
- Visit and request timestamps
Cookies and similar storage
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the service and whether a feature works as intended. Browser settings can block or remove them. Some parts of the service may work differently when cookies are disabled.

The information described above supports basic operation and service improvement. It may be used to:

Links Beyond This Service
Pages may link to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, the Saline County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center, the Gallatin Circuit Clerk application, IDOC, federal custody locators, court systems, and outside search tools. Gallatin County has no county jail listed in the official association directory, so a link may lead to an outside receiving custodian rather than a local jail. After a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy and data practices control.
Advertising partners may also use their own technologies to observe activity across different sites for targeted advertising. That activity takes place on the partner's systems, not under this service's direct control.

Personal information is not sold by this service. It may be made available to the following kinds of recipients when needed for the purposes described here:
- Search partners that process an entry submitted through their tool.
- Analytics services that help measure visits and performance.
- Advertising networks and their service providers.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order or other lawful demand.
Security in Plain Terms
Reasonable, standard security practices are used for the information handled by this service. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however. The service cannot promise that its systems will never be attacked, exposed, or affected by a security failure.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a parent or guardian may use the Get in Touch page to request its deletion.
Your Choices and Rights
Subject to applicable law and the limits of information held by a private reference service, a person may ask about data associated with their interaction and request:
- A copy of personal information held about the requester.
- Correction of information that is wrong.
- Deletion of information that no longer needs to be kept.
- Opt-out of certain uses or processing where that option applies.
A request should identify the information at issue without sending unnecessary sensitive details. A reply may require enough information to verify the requester and locate the relevant message or record.

This Privacy Notice may be revised as the service, tools, or legal requirements change. The updated wording will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after a revision means the revised practices apply to future use.
